         About us

A special meeting of the Eastern Region Board was called in October of 1982,attended by Bishop Iriney and the Board members of St.Mark Congregation. All present approved an agreement stating that: St.Mark complex will become the CENTRE OF THE EASTERN REGION and St.Mark will sell to the Eastern Region 5 acres of land for the price of $1.00.

Plan for the Church was to be a true copy of six-hundred year old church near the Village of Susice by Skopje,Macedonia.

That Church was started, according to some existing records,in 1345 and completed in 1372,by Prince Marko.Dedicated to the Great Martyt St.Demetrius, this Church was better known as King Marko's Church, after the name of its sponsor Prince Marko.Prince Marko is the famous super hero of the Serbian people,Kraljevic Marko.

The real work with building this church started on June 24th,when a number of workers showed up and started building forms to support the concrete.

Finnaly the year of consecration,1988,provided some time to make final touches and to install the iconostas on march 5,1988.

May 8Tth was day of consecration.

Today this blessing of the St.Mark Church is the inspiration for the members of St.Mark Congregation of Sheffield Village(Lorain),Ohio and the members of the Eastern Region,in their work in the Vineyard of the Lord.
